The beauty of this tool is it doesn’t come in contact with the Bolt Nose while turning the Bolt Shroud to disassemble the bolt. When holding the Bolt Nose while turning the Bolt Shroud, the Firing Pin is easily damaged.
When disassembling by hand or when using one of the many 3D printed tools out there, there’s the risk of turning the Bolt Shroud in the wrong direction and “uncocking” the Bolt Assembly. Some of the available disassembly tools are strong enough to “re-cock” the Bolt Assembly, but at greater risk of damaging the Firing Pin.
The DDG Fire Control Tool takes the risk out of the equation by pulling the Cocking Piece rearward and holding it in a neutral state. At this point, it doesn’t matter which direction the Bolt Shroud is turned for removal of the Fire Control Assembly.
Simply use the tool to turn the Bolt Shroud and it never has to come in contact with the Bolt Nose. Turning the tool also freely turns the Bolt Nose without the risk of bending the Firing Pin.
Tested on the V22 bolt Gen 1.2, Gen 2 and Gen 3 (repeater and single shot).
